What does DTS and YWAM stand for?

DTS stands for Discipleship Training School. YWAM stands for Youth With A Mission.

Is DTS only for young people?

Nope. Though we champion young people, we accept all ages!

What is the daily schedule like?

The lecture phase includes teachings from various speakers, times of prayer, times of worship, and outreach to the local community.

The outreach phase varies depending on location, but generally includes service projects, evangelism, times of prayer, and times of worship.

How much is DTS?

The lecture phase is $3495 and the outreach is approximately $4500 (This is dependent on location).

How can I raise the money?

Students have raised finances for the school in a number of different ways. Some have saved money from jobs. Others have gotten support from family and friends. Sometimes it is a combination of both. The YWAM staff will share ways you can raise money, along with ideas for support letters and newsletters to send to friends and family. We have seen God provide many times when it seemed that raising the money was impossible. It is absolutely doable!

Can I work during the DTS?

The DTS has a full-time schedule, therefore students will not be able to work during the school. There is a separate part-time program available for those who are working, but would still like to receive some training and discipleship.

Can I live off-campus?

DTS students are required to live on campus. The DTS is designed to be a live-learn environment where students learn from living and working with others.

Can I bring my own vehicle to drive?

Yes.

What is housing like?

YWAM Jacksonville is blessed with a house where we have our DTS classes, offices, and housing. The housing is shared with both students and staff.

Are meals provided?

Meals are included with the price of tuition.

When is outreach?

The Winter DTS Outreach will be during the months of April and May. The Fall DTS Outreach will be during the months of January and February. The exact dates are TBD.

Where is the outreach?

The outreach is generally different for each DTS. Our focus is in the 10/40 window, so we send teams to this area of the world. The 10/40 window consists of North Africa, Southeast Asia, and The Middle East.
